UNSA Student Support Office Implemented Training Program for Academic Staff in the Inclusive Education Field
The University of Sarajevo Student Support Office implemented a Training Program for academic staff of the University of Sarajevo within the project Higher Education - Education for All (VOzaSVE/HE4ALL) funded by UNICEF. The training program was realized in the University of Sarajevo Rectorate from 29/06 to 07/07/2020.
The program consists of three modules that academic staff can choose as a whole or individually by modules. Training in the field of inclusive education included the following units:
First module: Introduction to inclusive education
(leaders: Prof. Dr. Lejla Kafedžić and Doz. Dr. Lejla Osmić)
• Basic assumptions of inclusive education
• Observations and impressions
• Social exclusion and inclusive education in higher education
• Professional development of teachers for inclusive education
• Respect for diversity and support for all students - a shared vision
Second module: Through working together to inclusive practice
(leaders: Prof. Dr. Snježana Šušnjara and Dr. Merima Zukić)
• Application of communication in the development of professional relationships
• Cooperation to achieve participation
• Working with others to improve the quality of education
• Bioecological theory
• Encouraging self-determination in students with disabilities
Module Three: An environment that encourages individualized learning
(leaders: Doz. Dr. Sandra Bjelan-Guska and Anida Manko, MA)
• Situational awareness in higher education
• Opportunities and barriers to student learning and participation
• Differentiated teaching and personalized learning
• Applying the principles of UDL in creating a learning environment
• Application of assistive technology in higher education
The training program was attended by academic staff employed in various organizational units. Thank you to all trainees for applying and participating in the realization of topics, sharing experiences and discussion.
