Promotion of the 18th generation of European Regional Master's Program in Democracy and Human Rights in Southeast Europe Graduates
The ceremony of promoting 28 graduates from the 18th European Regional Master Program in Democracy and Human Rights in Southeast Europe (ERMA) generation will be held in the University of Sarajevo Ceremonial Hall (Obala Kulina bana, 7/II). On this occasion, a new generation enrolling in this highly regarded international master program will be inaugurated.
Welcome speeches by University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Bologna Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Enrico Sangiorgi, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to BiH, H.E. Nicola Minasi, and Mr. Krassimir Nikolov, Head of European Integration, Political Affairs, Press and Information Section (EU Delegation to BiH) will open the ceremony.
Zdzisław Kędzia, Global Campus of Human Rights President will deliver the keynote address. Students representatives of 2018/2019 generation will also share their experience: Edo Kanlić and Stela Ćelosmanović. Marjan Icoski will address the audience as an ERMA Studies Alumni Network (EAN) representative. Study co-ordinators: Prof. Dr. Marco Borraccetti and Prof. Dr. Asim Mujkić will present a report for 2018/2019 and disclose the names of students whose theses have been selected as the best in this academic year.
The ceremony will be attended by local and foreign diplomats, university professors, former and future ERMA program students, as well as their friends, family members and others.
To date, more than 500 students have completed the ERMA study, mostly from the Southeast Europe, the European Union, and beyond. Students will receive a dual diploma from the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna. The ERMA program is a joint effort of several universities in Southeast Europe and the European Union. Since 2000, the ERMA program has been funded by the European Union and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the AICS Agency. For six years, EU funding has been provided through the Global Campus Network administered by the European Interuniversity Center for Human Rights and Democratization in Venice (EIUC). The total funding allocated to this program so far is over 9 million Euros.
