UNSA Faculty of Forestry students in the action of afforestation
Students of the first year of the second cycle of studies at the Department of Forestry, Faculty of Forestry, University of Sarajevo, also took part in the action of mass afforestation in the Sarajevo Canton. Afforestation was performed as part of fieldwork in the subject "Forest Culture and Plantations" accompanied by the subject teacher Doz. Dr. Sead Ivojević, associate M.SC. Mehmed Čilaš as well as a colleague from KJP “Sarajevo šume” d.o.o.
Students were first introduced to the theoretical foundations of planting, and then approached the practical application. Planting was carried out in the area of Igman, more precisely within section 69, section “b” a, which belongs to GJ “Igman”, ŠPP “Igmansko”. A total of about 600 spruce seedlings (Picea abies Karst.) were planted. "On this occasion, we thank our colleagues from KJP" Sarajevo Forests "d.o.o., who themselves participated in the afforestation, as well as the management that organized it all, and we wish them much success in their future work." - said the present students of the Faculty of Forestry UNSA.
The Students' Association of the Faculty of Forestry joins the action of mass afforestation organized by the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, KJP "Sarajevo-šume" doo Sarajevo, Cantonal Forestry Administration KS, KJU for protected natural areas Sarajevo, Ministry of Education and education of KS, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of KS, the Association of Employers and the Association of Forestry Engineers and Technicians of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
