Faculty of Islamic Sciences UNSA - Intensive Arabic Language Course Organized by the Islamic Cultural Center “Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Mahmoud” from Qatar Completed

At the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Islamic Sciences, during September 2025, under the auspices of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the State of Qatar, the Islamic Cultural Center “Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Mahmoud” organized intensive Arabic language courses for first-year students of the Theology Program. The implementers of this project were professors with many years of experience in teaching Arabic to foreigners, professors: Prof. Mousa Muthanna Al Ashmali and Dr. Youssef Rhaimi, their supervisors from the Islamic Cultural Center “Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Mahmoudi” from Qatar, Prof. Muhammad Sulayman Al Sukutri, Dr. Ahmed Abdurrahim Tahan, Prof. Sultan Sa'd al-Badr and members of the Department of Quranic Philology of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences.

Upon completion of the Course, on 6 October 2025, the closing ceremony of awarding certificates and special awards to the Course participants was held at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences. In addition to the 40 students - Course participants, the ceremony was also attended by other students, teaching staff, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hasani, a representative of the Directorate for Education and Science of the BiH Islamic Community Rijaset, and the Director of the Islamic Cultural Center “Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Mahmoudi” from Qatar, Dr. Salih b. Ali al-Merri.

Addressing the audience, Dean Hasani pointed out that “Arabic language is the key to Islamic sciences and the basic tool for understanding the pure sources of Islam, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah and the hadith of the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace. It is necessary for anyone who wants to learn Islamic sciences such as aqeedah, fiqh, tafsir, ethics and others. This is why our faculty has always attached and will attach great importance to the Arabic language and its importance in our educational programs.” At the end of his speech, Dean Hasani congratulated the students, thanked the guests for their support not only to the Faculty, but also to the Islamic community as a whole, and wished them success in their future work.

In the continuation of the ceremony, the director of the Islamic Cultural Center “Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Mahmoud” from Qatar, Dr. Salih b. Ali al-Merri and the representative of BiH Islamic Community Rijaset, i.e. the Directorate for Education and Science, Dr. Ekrem Tucaković. On behalf of the students who attended the Course, first-year student Muhamed Huseinović addressed the audience.
