2nd Balkans Rectors’ Assembly in Zagreb
The second assembly of Western Balkans Rectors - a gathering of 20 university rectors from the region takes place on Saturday, 3 November 2018, at 14:00 pm in the University of Zagreb’s aula (Trg Republike Hrvatske 14).
It is about universities from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Belgrade, Bihać, Ljubljana, Maribor, Mostar, Novi Pazar, Novi Sad, Rijeka, Tirana, Tuzla, Zagreb, Zenica and University of Arts in Belgrade, two Pristina universities (one with headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica), University of Montenegro, “Sv. Cyril and Methodius“ University of Skopje and the University ”Sv. Kliment Ohridski” in Bitola.
At this significant event, the University of Sarajevo will be represented by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Rector, and Prof. Sanja Burić, Vice-Rector for Arts, Culture and Sports.
During the forum, 20 Rectors will sign an Agreement on the Establishment of the Western Balkans Universities Union. The Union is to enhance the cooperation and joint action of those universities in the areas of science, higher education, research and knowledge transfer. On the basis of the Agreement, signatories will cooperate and work towards achieving common goals and interests and will contribute to the development of academic and wider community communities through their activities.
The first Western Balkans Rectors’ Assembly Western Balkans was held in September 2018 at the University of Novi Sad.
