Workshop on Modern EU Multi-Year University Financing

In cooperation with the HERE BiH Group and with the ERASMUS+ National BH Office, the University of Sarajevo organized a workshop “The Modern EU Multi-Year University Financing Models - Strengthening University Responsibility and Autonomy .“
Welcome speeches by  Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Mr. Suad Muhibić, Erasmus+ BH National Office Director opened the workshop.
The workshop that took place on 20 November 2017, was conducted by the EACEA expert, Mrs. Tatyana Koryakin Antunes, currently working at the University of Porto, Portugal (Center for Research in Higher Education Policies - CIPES). Mrs. Antunes is an expert in the field of politics and mechanisms of higher education financing and its implications for university management, both concerning the university and industry cooperation and the society as whole.
The workshop presented European public policies supporting the introduction of a new way of universities financing, which through strengthening the monitoring measures and assessing the achieved performance reinforce primarily university’s responsibility and transparency, thus opening the way to the true strengthening of all aspects of autonomy and strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit of the academic community. Ms. Antunes spoke on several topics, amongst others on the reform of higher education - changes in governance at higher education institutions and in connection with this on strengthening autonomy, transparency and accountability. She also presented changes in funding mechanisms - from state control to strong institutional autonomy, and funding based on contract performance: the EU experience.
