Meeting between UNSA Rector and Palestinian Ambassador
H.E. Mr. Rezeq Namoora, Ambassador of Palestine to BiH, visited the University of Sarajevo on Tuesday, 17 October 2017, where he met with Prof. Dr. Rifat Skrijelj, Rector, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolic, Vice Rector for international Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Aida Hodzic, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs, and Dr. Jasna Bosnjovic, International Cooperation office Head.
During the visit of Ambassador Namoor to the University of Sarajevo, Rector Skrijelj, along with the welcome to the distinguished guest, presented the history and development of the University of Sarajevo, emphasizing the comprehensiveness of the University that covers the fields of humanities, social sciences, medicine, natural sciences and biotechnology and technical sciences and arts.
During the meeting, the importance of interuniversity cooperation was emphasized, and possibilities for academic cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the universities in Palestine, especially between the University of Sarajevo and the University of Al-Quds, were considered.
It was emphasized that a significant number of students from Palestine studied at the University of Sarajevo, and Ambassador Namoora said that they were very successful experts in the areas they work. Emphasizing that education is the greatest value of every human being, Ambassador Namoor said that today there is a strong interest of students from Palestine to study at the University of Sarajevo.
Rector Skrijelj expressed readiness for institutional cooperation that will include student exchange, as well as for signing academic cooperation agreements with the University of Al-Quds, and stated that the necessary administrative procedures will be taken in the upcoming period.
