Language Institute: Development and dissemination of language culture, systematic scientific research and development of languages and language forms on the principles of scientific excellence

University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj and Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović met with the Language Institute Director, Dr. Alen Kalajdžija and scientific staff of the Institute. At the meeting held on 22 June 2020 in the Rectorate, the reform processes and integration of the University, the scientific research work of the Institute and the possibilities of its improvement, as well as the spatial capacities of the Institute were discussed.
The meeting was an opportunity to present activities on the project of the electronic corpus of the Bosnian language (BEK - Bosnian Electronic Corpus), and it was pointed out the signed Memorandum of Understanding between BZK Preporod and the Language Institute, which includes work on drafting a new Bosnian orthography.
The necessity of providing adequate spatial capacities for the Institute of Language was emphasized, and it was emphasized that activities will be continued in the following period in order to resolve the issue of accommodation of the Institute within the University Campus.
The Language Institute, University of Sarajevo is a scientific institution that deals with scientific research work in the field of language, training staff for scientific research work and publishing the results of work in its publications. Its mission is the development and spread of language culture, systematic scientific research and development of languages and language forms on the principles of scientific excellence, as well as publishing the results of work with constant education of staff for the needs of science.
