AKCUS “Seljo” Ensemble “Prijatelji” Celebrated the 60th Anniversary
As part of celebrating the 60th anniversary of Prijatelji Vocal Ensemble, a gala concert of this ensemble was held in the National Theater Sarajevo on 2 November.
The Prijatelji Ensemble was founded in 1957 and has been working continuously since then. Currently, it has 11 active members, and through the ensemble, about 40 members have passed since its inception. It is difficult to list all the achievements and achievements of this ensemble. They recorded ten singles and two long play records, seven CDs, four audio tapes, about 80 recordings for the Radio Sarajevo archive and a large number of TV shows. They have visited in almost all countries of Europe, as well as in all major parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They won the 6th of April City of Sarajevo Prize in 1979, and a number of festival prizes. The composition "Kad ja pođoh na Bentbašu” performed by the ensemble is included in the Bosnian Sevdalinka Anthology. The leader of the ensemble has been Mario Katavić for 20 years.
Two more “Seljo’s” ensembles participated in the concert. The CORONA, a female vocal ensemble and Seljo’s Youth orchestra.
