Welcome day for visiting students at the University of Sarajevo
The International Cooperation Office, University of Sarajevo, in cooperation with Vice-Deans and coordinators for international cooperation of university member institutions, as well as in communication with partner institutions throughout Europe, during the summer semester of 2020/2021 opened several competition calls for mutual mobility.
Approximately 50 students from the University of Sarajevo were given the opportunity to stay abroad the following semester, while 40 students from abroad chose the University of Sarajevo as the host for the following semester. On that occasion, a Welcome Day was held for foreign students who will spend the winter semester of the 2021/2022 at the University of Sarajevo, mostly through the Erasmus+ program. Students come from Austria, Estonia, France, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.
Respecting the epidemiological conditions, the Welcome Day was held at the University of Sarajevo Rectorate, where students were introduced to the University of Sarajevo, Sarajevo, and provided academic, administrative and practical information that will help them get around the city faster and better. In cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network student association, we enabled them to "pair" with local students in order to facilitate their stay and provide information about life in Sarajevo.
Foreign visiting students will stay at the University of Sarajevo until the end of February 2022, when they officially finish their teaching obligations, and we hope that in that period they will achieve positive results and experience at least half of the mobility in Sarajevo and BiH. visiting students had before the pandemic.
