UNSA Music Academy announces: Evening of contemporary music for cello and accordion with the duo "2B"
The new UNSA Music Academy 2021 concert season begins with a concert by the duo “2B”, which consists of two renowned Bosnian artists and professors at the Music Academy - cellist Belma Alić and accordionist Belma Šarančić. A concert where the audience will have the opportunity to listen to an unusual combination of these two instruments is scheduled for Tuesday, 5 January 2021 in the Gallery of the Bosnian Cultural Center, at 19:00.
Belma Alić (cello) graduated in cello in the class of Prof. Yevgeny Xaviereff at the UNSA Academy of Music. He completes postgraduate and doctoral studies in the same class. During her schooling, she specialized in master classes and seminars for cello and chamber music with prominent pedagogues. She was a member of the International Youth String Orchestra in Slovenia and the World Symphony Orchestra of Musical Youth. She has won numerous awards at competitions for music students in BiH and Italy. She is the artistic director of the chamber ensemble Strings Attached Sinfonietta and is a member of the chamber ensemble of the aMAS Music Academy. Since 2007, she has been a member of the Circus Opera ensemble, in whose production of the opera Nigel Osborne has had successful performances in BiH, England, Scotland and Austria. He is currently an associate professor in the field of cello at the UNSA Academy of Music.
Belma Šarančić (accordion) completed her undergraduate studies at the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo and the Music Academy in East Sarajevo. She has a master's degree in the class of prof. Radomir Tomić, while she completed her specialist studies in the class of prof. Claudia Jaccomuci in Italy. She received her PhD in accordion from the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo under the mentorship of: Prof. Geir Draugsvolla - accordion and Prof. Senad Kazić - written work. She has participated in and won numerous competitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. She has recorded for domestic television stations and production companies, as well as music for films. In her pedagogical work, her students have recorded numerous solo performances as well as over 70 awards at international competitions in the categories of soloists and chamber ensembles. He is currently an associate professor of accordion at the UNSA Academy of Music.
The collaboration of the duo “2B” has been based on a certain topic for some time. This time the focus is on exploring life ideals presented through art belonging to three different cultures - Russian, Japanese and British. The concert program will include four carefully selected works: “In Croce” by Sofie Gubaiduline, “The Dream Carp” by Yuji Takahashi, “Stone Garden 2” by Nigel Osborne, and "In die Tiefe der Zeit" by Toshio Hosokawe.
