The University of Sarajevo hosted a reception for doctoral students who are implementing mobility with the support of the EUPeace Doctoral Mobility Grant

On Tuesday, 7 April, the University of Sarajevo hosted a reception for doctoral students who are implementing mobility with the support of the EUPeace Doctoral Mobility Grant, as part of the EUPeace alliance (European University for Peace, Justice, and Inclusive Societies).

As part of this program, Selma Alispahić and Fatima Mahmutović from the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo are going on mobility, and will stay at the University of Marburg (Philipps-Universität Marburg). Andrea Pavlović from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Sarajevo will implement her mobility at the Sapienza University of Rome (Sapienza Università di Roma).

At the same time, the University of Sarajevo will host Farhad Feizi, a doctoral student from the Justus Liebig University in Giessen (Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen), who will spend his research stay at the Faculty of Political Sciences.

The mobilities will be implemented during 2026, and represent an important step in strengthening the international dimension of doctoral studies and connecting research communities within the EUPeace Alliance.

The University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, emphasized the importance of participation in the EUPeace Doctoral Mobility Grant program, emphasizing that international mobilities contribute to the development of doctoral students' research competencies, strengthening academic cooperation and positioning the University of Sarajevo in the European research area.

The reception was also attended by Prof. Dr. Kemal Durić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Academic Coordinator of the EUPeace Alliance at the University of Sarajevo, and Prof. Dr. Ehlimana Spahić, Head of the UNSA Team for the Implementation of Work Package 6 (WP6) “Research Hubs and Doctoral Studies.”

The EUPeace Doctoral Mobility Grant provides financial support to doctoral students for the implementation of research stays at partner universities within the EUPeace alliance, and contributes to the strengthening of international cooperation, knowledge exchange and the development of joint research and teaching activities, especially within the thematic research hubs of the alliance.
