The “Together” Exhibition: More than 130 artists in a unique gathering of generations from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo

The retrospective exhibition “Together,” which brings together works by approximately 130 former students and professors of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo from the period 1972 to 1990, was officially opened this evening at the Collegium Artisticum Gallery.

This exhibition brings together, in one place, artistic bodies of work scattered around the world, featuring the first generations to emerge from the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts and the instructors who helped shape the city’s distinctive visual identity. The exhibition confirms that the standards, craftsmanship, and openness acquired at their alma mater continue to live on in their studios.

Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Nihad Uk also attended the official opening, emphasizing the importance of continued support for cultural institutions and artists who form the backbone of Sarajevo’s cultural scene.

“When you see the works of 130 artists who built Sarajevo’s name around the world gathered in one place, it is clear why it is our responsibility to ensure stable conditions for institutions such as Collegium Artisticum. It is gratifying to see that the systemic support we provide to cultural institutions is producing concrete results, through exhibitions like this, a full gallery, and a better working environment for cultural creators,” said Prime Minister Uk.

The “Together” exhibition will be open to visitors until 9 October 2026, on weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 at the Collegium Artisticum Gallery.
