Public discussion “Perspectives of Sociology in Education”
On 19 February 19, 2024, the first public discussion was held at the UNSA Faculty of Political Sciences under title “Perspectives of Sociology in Education” which is an important step in launching a more serious and long-term cooperation between the academic community of sociologists with professors and professors of sociology and civic education in high schools and high schools. It was concluded that regardless of different challenges, sociology remains an important and relevant discipline that provides an understanding of society, all social phenomena and change. Her contribution to understanding social inequalities, cultures, identities, and the socialization process are key to building a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable society.
The public discussion brought together sociologists and sociologists from the UNSA academic community, teachers and sociology teachers in high schools and the high schools of Canton of Sarajevo, these students and sociology students to create a more serious front to combat the marginalization of sociology in education and the effort to involve sociologists and sociologists in educational reforms and labor market policies. They addressed the present: Head of the Sociology Department of Political Science at the University of Sarajevo Prof. Dr. Sarina Bakić, UNSA Faculty of Political Sciences Dean, Prof. Dr. Sead Turčilo, University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Minister for Education of the canton of Sarajevo Naida Hota-Muminović and on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science Prof. Dr. Seid Masnica, advisor for higher education, science and technology.
In addition to the main presentations of professor Mirsa Cvrka and Amera Sofradžija which contextualized subjects of sociology and civic education in secondary schools and high schools and presented a curriculum for sociology, with the moderation of Prof. Dr. Harisa Cerić, all present participated in the discussion that resulted in conclusions and suggestions on how future cooperation and future activities were maintained.
