About the Journal

The journal Works of the Faculty of Forestry University of Sarajevo was founded in 1952, and in 2026 it will mark 74 years of continuous scientific publishing. Throughout its long history, the journal has represented a key platform for publishing scientific and professional papers in the fields of forestry, horticulture, urban forestry, ecology, biology, and nature protection.

In recent years, the journal has undergone an intensive process of modernization and digital transformation. All issues and articles published from 1952 to the present are available in digital format, and all papers have been assigned DOI numbers, including retroactively assigned DOI identifiers for older articles, which has significantly improved their visibility, citation rate, and permanent accessibility.

The editorial and peer-review process is entirely conducted via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, in accordance with contemporary international standards of scientific publishing. The journal is indexed in relevant international bibliographic databases and continuously works on strengthening its international recognition and the quality of published papers.

Combining decades of tradition with modern digital solutions, Works of the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Forestry today represents a modern, open, and internationally oriented scientific journal.
