Memorandum on Scientific-Research Cooperation and Establishment of a Knowledge Network in the Field of Protection and Rescue and Civil Protection Signed with the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 22 December  2025, on behalf of the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dean Prof. Dr. Muhamed Smajlović signed a Memorandum on Scientific-Research Cooperation and Establishment of a Knowledge Network in the Field of Protection and Rescue and Civil Protection with the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The aim of the Memorandum is to enhance scientific-research cooperation, analyze existing capacities, strengthen technical and scientific knowledge, and map needs in the field of protection and rescue and civil protection. Special emphasis is placed on the development of new tools and methodologies for risk assessment, strengthening early warning systems, and education of young people.

Support for the implementation of these activities was provided by the UN and NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo. The aforementioned activities are supported by UN agencies through the Joint Program “Disaster Risk Reduction for Sustainable Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” in accordance with UN reform goals and related objectives of Swiss multilateral cooperation, as well as with the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for BiH 2021-2025.
