Meeting on the development of bilateral scientific and technological exchange in the development and strengthening of effective cooperation between the academic and industrial sectors
The first meeting on the development of bilateral scientific and technological exchange in the development and strengthening of effective cooperation between academic and industrial was held in Sarajevo on 1 April at the initiative of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (INGEB) of the University of Sarajevo and the University-Industrial Platform of the Republic of Turkey sector.
On behalf of the University of Sarajevo, the meeting was attended by Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Mirza Dautbašić, Prof. Dr. Kasim Bajrović, member of the UNSA Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Naris Pojskić, director of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, and scientific advisor of this institute in the field of genetics and biotechnology Prof. Dr. Lejla Pojskić and Prof. Dr. Adaleta Durmić-Pašić.
On behalf of the University-Industrial Platform of the Republic of Turkey, distinguished Turkish Professor Hamit Serbest presented his many years of experience in developing technology transfer systems between academia and industry, challenges and the importance of this cooperation for the overall industrial development of Turkey. Ahu Altinkut Uncioglu, USIMP secretary, spoke about the challenges of organizing and managing within the academic sector in the era of third-generation universities, according to which universities should find the most effective ways to quickly and effectively transfer knowledge and discoveries to the industrial sector.
Scientific advisors Pojskić and Durmić-Pašić presented research (INGEB) in the field of development of new biotechnologies based on genetics and molecular biology. Vice-Rector Dautbašić reminded that the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of the University of Sarajevo is the holder of two patents in the field of biotechnology, and through the strengthening of the University Center for Research and Development, we expect scientific knowledge to be translated into new patents and technological transfers. natural and biotechnical sciences (biotechnology), but also other fields such as information technology (IT) and other propulsive research fields represented at UNSA.
In his address, Rector Škrijelj expressed the strategic commitment of the University of Sarajevo to strengthen its cooperation with companies in various fields of economy which will "unlock" the innovative potentials and knowledge of public universities and put them in the function of wider social development of KS and BiH.
In the continuation of this cooperation, the optimal modalities of strengthening the capacity of universities for knowledge transfer and further technological development for the needs of the industrial sector in BiH will be discussed, as well as continuous education of researchers and associates in research-oriented industrial production.
