The Fourth South East Europe and the Western Balkans Rectors’ Forum held at the University of Montenegro
At the 4th South East Europe and the Western Balkans Rectors’ Forum, hosted by the University of Montenegro, the rector of UCG Prof. Dr. Danilo Nikolić welcomed the rectors and representatives of 30 universities in the region.
On this forum, the Rules of Procedure of the Rectors Forum of the universities of South East Europe and the Western Balkans were adopted and signed by the Academic Interinstitutional Agreement on Cooperation.
Among other things, these Rules of Procedure define common goals regarding the development of higher education at the regional level, areas of science and art, research and knowledge transfer as well as a defined plan for strengthening academic integrity.
During the discussion, during the discussion on these same themes, the joint conclusions from the previous III Rector's Forum as well as the joint conclusions on further action are presented.
There were also words about the Berlin Process, which aims to support the peaceful, stable and democratic future of the Western Balkans and to enhance regional cooperation and the European integration of the region, within which the V Conference will be organized in late May 2019 in London.
On the eve of the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the University of Montenegro, the rectors and representatives of all 30 universities of the region planted olive trees in the university campus as a sign of good future cooperation with the University.
At this event, the University of Sarajevo was represented by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Rector, Dr. Murat Ramadanović, Steering Committee Chairman, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić, Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Prof. Dr. Aida Hodžić, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs.
