Exchange of experiences on the implementation of HRS4R: University of Sarajevo hosts representative of University of Limoges

Sophie Valette, Director of the Office of the President of the University of Limoges, visited the University of Sarajevo from 6 to 7 April 2026, with the aim of exchanging experiences in the implementation of the HR Excellence in Research (HRS4R) initiative and strengthening institutional cooperation between the two universities.

The visit was carried out within the framework of cooperation between partner institutions gathered in the European university alliance EUPeace Alliance, which brings together universities dedicated to the development of a common European education and research area.

During the two-day visit, meetings were held with representatives of the University of Sarajevo, at which the experiences of this institution in the implementation of the HRS4R process and the application of the principles of the European Charter for Researchers were presented. The visit was particularly important considering that the University of Limoges is in the initial phase of implementing the HRS4R process, and a special focus was on getting to know the experiences and institutional approach of the University of Sarajevo.

In this context, the role of the Scientific Research Service of the University of Sarajevo was presented, which has been coordinating activities related to the implementation of the HRS4R process at the institutional level since 2019. The discussion focused on the organization of the process, the coordination of internal working bodies, the development of strategic and operational documents, as well as the mechanisms of cooperation between the university members involved in this process.

During the visit, Sophie Valette met with the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naris Pojskić, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Kemal Durić, and representatives of the Rector's Office, the Center for Research and Development, the International Cooperation Service, and the Scientific Research Service.

The discussions also focused on the possibilities of further developing cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the University of Limoges within the EUPeace Alliance, in particular through the exchange of good practices in the implementation of the HRS4R process and the strengthening of institutional capacities to support researchers.

The visit further confirmed the recognized expertise of the University of Sarajevo in the application of European standards for the development of research careers through the HRS4R process, and contributed to further strengthening cooperation between partner institutions.
