University of Sarajevo at the Patent Fair in Turkey - Promotion of cooperation between academia and industry
The University of Sarajevo, at the special invitation of the organizer - Platform for University and Industry Cooperation (USIMP) in the Republic of Turkey, participated in the Patent Fair and the Congress of the Academic-Industrial Cooperation Platform of the Republic of Turkey held in the Technology Park in Ankara on 22 and 23 November 2023.
The representative of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Lejla Kapur Pojskić, scientific advisor of the Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (INGEB) of the University of Sarajevo, presented at this important meeting the strategic research and development activities of the University of Sarajevo and the Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in the field of establishing the Open Research Infrastructure of INGEB and UNSA and encouraging innovation through the activities of the Research and Development Center of the University of Sarajevo.
This year, more than 300 patents were presented at the Fair, and the increase in the number of innovations and commercialization of new discoveries through the mentioned platform is growing steadily from year to year. Since 2018, the UNSA Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology has registered three patents in the majority ownership of the University of Sarajevo. Through the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the University of Sarajevo and USIMP, researchers and innovators from the University of Sarajevo have the opportunity to present and commercialize their technological innovations. Linking the innovative potential of UNSA with this and similar international platforms is one of the measures to encourage international research cooperation and the translation of scientific knowledge and technological discoveries for the benefit of society.
