Final Day of Conference Celebrating 75 Years Since the Establishment of the Department of History at the UNSA Faculty of Philosophy - PhD Students in Focus
The last day of the conference marking the 75th anniversary of the Department of History at the UNSA Faculty of Philosophy was dedicated to doctoral students at the Department of History.
In collaboration with their mentors, the doctoral candidates prepared an engaging workshop that took us through various historical periods. Topics from classical history were analyzed from the perspectives of modern technologies, creative industries, and philosophical-historical reflections. The future doctors of modern and contemporary history, along with their mentors, presented interesting research on humanitarian work during World War II and the status of women in a micro-region during the socialist period. All thematic frameworks were limited to the territory of present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Participants in today’s workshop included: Goran Popović (mentor Prof. Dr. Amra Šačić Beća), Tin Marijanović (mentor Prof. Dr. Salmedin Mesihović), Ajdin Muhedinović (mentor Prof. Dr. Amir Duranović), Jasna Pašić (mentor Prof. Dr. Zijad Šehić). For justified reasons, doctoral student Amer Maslo was absent, but he prepared a presentation of his work, and his mentor, Prof. Dr. Edin Radušić, presented the current results of their collaboration and the methodology used in his dissertation.
In the introductory part of the workshop, moderator Prof. Dr. Salmedin Mesihović provided an overview of the history of the doctoral program, which dates back to 1957. The positive experiences of studying in the doctoral program of the Department of History, shared by participants and attendees, were presented by Dr. Minela Radušić, senior assistant, who defended her doctoral dissertation last year.
