The AI conference held - SHOULD WE BE AFRAID? organized by the UNSA Faculty of Pharmacy
The rapid development of artificial intelligence opens up new perspectives in medical research, diagnostics, therapy and health data management, and in this regard, the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Pharmacy (UNSA-FFSA) is in cooperation with the Society for Medical and Biological Engineering in Bosnia and Herzegovina ( DMBIUBIH) organized a conference for experts, students, doctors of medicine, masters of pharmacy, doctors of dentistry and other healthcare workers on how to optimally use artificial intelligence (AI) in improving healthcare.
Conference AI - SHOULD WE BE AFRAID? was held on November 30 at the Hills Hotel, and gathered students of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry, healthcare workers eager to expand their knowledge about AI, experts in the field of artificial intelligence and technology in healthcare, and representatives of line ministries.
The conference was opened by Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Fahir Bečić wished the participants successful work. In his address, he stated “Should we be afraid of artificial intelligence? I don't think we should be afraid. We should be afraid of our unlearning and our ignorance. The use of artificial intelligence can be considered in different ways, and it will also require good legal regulation.”
The opening address was given by Prof. Dr. Tamer Bego who said “We are all aware that the progress of technology is around us. New technologies are constantly being used and what we will focus on in this scientific symposium is to see how artificial intelligence is really represented in healthcare, with a focus on pharmacy, medicine and dentistry. We tried to have eminent lecturers”. Professor Bego also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth, which supported the organization of the UNSA Faculty of Pharmacy's scientific gathering this year as well.
The conference AI - SHOULD WE BE AFRAID? it provided a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, and will contribute to the development of expertise and understanding of AI in medical and pharmaceutical disciplines in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. this was an opportunity for conference participants to learn about the basics of artificial intelligence, learn how AI is revolutionizing pharmacy, medicine and dentistry, participate in workshops with AI tools, and connect with future trends in healthcare.
