Participants of the 10th International Staff Training Week participated in a workshop on achieving sustainable development goals within the internationalization of higher education institutions
On the fourth day of the 10th staff week, the participants stayed at the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo. The program included a workshop on achieving sustainable development goals within the internationalization of higher education institutions. The workshop was led by the vice-rector for the University of Sarajevo international relations, prof. Ph.D. Enita Nakas. Participants analyzed their home institutions and answered questions such as the short-term benefits of internationalization, especially in the context of business and education, the long-term benefits of internationalization, the implementation of internationalization at home, and discussed how university exchange programs have the potential to make a significant contribution to several sustainable development goals such as the quality of education, gender equality, reducing inequality, inclusiveness, etc.
The main conclusion of this workshop is that participation in similar events that touch or focus on the internationalization of universities can benefit students and university staff because it aims to promote the global dimension of higher education and research and create international connections and opportunities for exchange and cooperation with universities and academic institutions around the world. At the same time, international cooperation can play a crucial role in removing stereotypes and prejudices and promoting mutual understanding between different cultures and societies, as it allows people to meet people from different backgrounds and discuss their experiences.
