Promotion of Dr. Lana Paćuka's book Ženski identiteti u muzičkom životu austrougarskog Sarajeva (Female Identities in the Music Life of Austro-Hungarian Sarajevo)
The promotion of Dr. Lana Paćuka's book Ženski identiteti u muzičkom životu austrougarskog Sarajeva (Female Identities in the Music Life of Austro-Hungarian Sarajevo) will be held at the Bosniak Institute - Adil Zulfikarpašić Foundation, on 5 November 2019 at 19:00. The book, based on primary musicological sources and research conducted in archives in BiH, Croatia, Austria and Hungary, is one of the first domestic musicological publications dealing with the position, importance and role of women in the development of the musical life of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Women's Identity pages, supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum and the Institute of Musicology at the Sarajevo Academy of Music, give an insight into one of the most culturally dynamic periods in BiH history, pointing out that women were the main bearers of music practice with the advent of the Austro-Hungarian administration. Dr. Lana Paćuka is Professor and Head of the Department of Musicology at the Sarajevo Academy of Music.
