“ICTY Information Center - Vision and Potential” Lecture Held
Mr. Fausto Pocar, judge with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, with the Appeals Chamber of the International Rwanda Criminal Court and an International Law professor at the University of Milan Faculty of Law delivered a lecture on topic “ICTY Information Center - Vision and Potential" in the UNSA Ceremonial Hall on Friday, 13 October 2017.
In introductory speech to lecture, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolic, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, on behalf of University of Sarajevo Rector, Management and employees welcomed judge Pocar.
Mr. Fausto Pocar, the judge with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia is currently in Sarajevo as a part of final activities on the establishment of the ICTY Information Center in Sarajevo. This center will be located in the Sarajevo City Hall and offer access to the ICC's digital databases and represent a platform for a range of educational, scientific research and similar activities related to the rich heritage of the ICTY.
In the lecture organized for students, teachers and associates of the University of Sarajevo, Judge Fausto Pocar spoke about the meaning, mission and potential of the ICTY Information Center in the process of dealing with the past. Judge Pocar announced the opening of the ICTY Information Center in Sarajevo at the end of this or early next year, pointing out that this center should not be a passive institution but to provide access to ICTY documents from their databases via the Internet to anyone who wants it.
