The Faculty of Medicine marked the twenty-seventh anniversary of the Dr. Suada Dilberović’s Death
On Friday, 5 April 2019, the Management of the Faculty of Medicine together with the teaching staff and students marked 27th anniversary of Dr. Suada Dilberović’s death, the first victim of Aggression on Sarajevo by paying respect and laying of flowers at “Suada Dilberović” Memorial Park.
The Vice-Dean for Teaching, Prof. Dr. Eldan Kapur pointed out that “in today's circumstances marking such dates is the sacred duty of everyone who cares about the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that all of us who here today testify that Suada and all those who have given their lives for Bosnia and Herzegovina be always with us and remind us of the courage and resolve to oppose evil. With every new generation of students at the Faculty of Medicine, the noble spirit of Dr. Suada Dilberović, as a symbol of heroism and humanity, will eternally live with our hope and determination to never again repeat such a crime.”
Suada Dilberović was born on 24 May 1968 in Dubrovnik. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo in 1988. On 5 April 1992, in the final year of studies at Faculty of Medicine, together with Olga Sučić, she was brutally killed on the former Vrbanja Bridge in Sarajevo.
The Suada Dilberović” Memorial Park was opened on 9 May last year. It represents the place of everyday gathering of students and at the same time is a monument dedicated to the life of Dr. Suada Dilberović.
