Masters of “Interreligious Studies and Peacebuilding” Promoted
On 31 May 2022, the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted a promotion of master's students in “Interreligious Studies and Peacebuilding” - a study jointly organized and conducted by the UNSA Faculty of Catholic Theology, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, and Orthodox Theology faculty sv. Vasilije Ostroški in Foča, University of East Sarajevo. The study is being conducted with the financial support of the American humanitarian organization Catholic Relief Services. This is the first promotion that has been held since the start of the study, that is since 2017. Since then, 11 students have successfully completed this study of which 10 students have participated in the promotion.
The ceremonial academy was attended by, among others: Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Milan Kulić, Rector of University of East Sarajevo, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, Archbishop of Vrhbosna ret., Prof. Dr. Dževad Hodžić, Director of the Directorate for Education and Science of the Islamic Community in BiH, representative of the reis-l-ulema Dr. Husein ef. Kavazović, Mr. Jacob Finci, President of the Jewish Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, N.J. e. Yasser Sorour Ambassador of Egypt to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Vladislav Topalović, Dean of the Orthodox Theological Faculty and Chairman of the Joint Council of Master Studies, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Alibašić, Vice Dean for Teaching at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Darko Tomašević, Dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Sarajevo, Mr. Kevin Hartigan, Regional Director of Catholic Relief Service, Sanela Imamović, representative of CRS BiH / Balkans, professors and staff of all three theological faculties as well as the Faculty of Political Science, University of Sarajevo, whose professors are also lecturers at this study, and other friends and guests of new graduates .
Those present at the academy were addressed by: Prof. Dr. Vladislav Topalović, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Prof. Dr. Milan Kulić and Mr. Kevin Hartigan. In their speeches, they emphasized the uniqueness of this study in the world, its importance for the society of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as wholehearted support for the further development of this program. The ceremonial academy was moderated by Mr. Haris Bilalović and was enhanced by the performances of the choir of the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo under the direction of Fr. Emanuel Josić and Nina Karadžić, a student at the Music Academy of the University of East Sarajevo.
The new masters of interreligious studies and peacebuilding are: Safet Music, Emina Tafro, Anita Tolo, Bojan Topić, Medina Fazlić, Ismeta Begić, Maja Balaban Lolić, Zeljka Ergelashev, Emilija Pavicević, Anesa Agović and Drazen Janko.
