The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Croatia donated publications on Korea to the University of Sarajevo
The publications “Korea - A Handbook of History and Geography in Primary and Secondary Schools” were donated by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Croatia to the University of Sarajevo. On that occasion, on 2 November, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in BiH, Mr. Svjetlan Stanić, and his Deputy, Mr. Damir Kalmar, visited the University of Sarajevo, where they met with the Vice-Rectors of the University, Prof. Dr. Tamara Karača-Beljak and Prof. Dr. Mirza Dautbašić, director of the University of Sarajevo Library, M.Sc. Nadina Grebović-Lendo and Prof. YeonJu Jeong, professor of violin at the UNSA Academy of Music.
The handbook consists of five chapters in which Korea is represented, in the areas of geography and population, history, economy, culture and relations between South and North Korea. The publication is intended for students of the University of Sarajevo, and a number of publications will be available at the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Science, as well as at the Faculty of Education, and some will be in the Library of the University of Sarajevo.
During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the University of the Republic of Korea were discussed, especially in the field of culture, arts and sports, as well as cooperation within scientific research/artistic research work. It was pointed out that certain activities have already been initiated when it comes to cooperation in the field of art, and that it is planned to hold the Korean Day as part of the Art Day of the University of Sarajevo.
