Associate Fuad Šetić, MA appointed Honorary Conductor of the K-Orchestra from Yangpyeong-gun (South Korea)!
The year 2021, despite the difficult conditions for performing as an artistic associate of the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo, Fuad Šetić, began very successfully.
After being appointed an active member (conductor) of the Music Association Giuseppe Verdi from Guadalajara (Mexico) in January this year, Šetić also cooperated with the Organizing Committee of K-Classic from Yangpyeong-gun (South Korea), where he was appointed honorary conductor of K-Classic Orchestra.
The Giuseppe Verdi Music Association works to bring art music closer to a larger audience, through its four main goals:
- music education supported by strategic cooperation,
- promotion of 20th and 21st century art music and composers around the world,
- musical exchanges of artists from various parts of the world, and
- organization of courses, workshops, festivals, etc., which would help musicians to overcome the problems they encounter in their daily lives.
The K-Classic project was launched in October 2012 and has been active for almost a decade in the field of promoting and nurturing music of Western European and world art thought, but also Korean art music, with the aim of internationalizing the art scene in South Korea, but also networking and exchanging musicians with the rest of the world.
These international successes of the young artistic associate are certainly a significant step for the post-pandemic revitalization of the Bosnian art music scene, but also for increasing the visibility of the Music Academy and the University of Sarajevo.
