Laboratory for simulations in logistics and ITS officially opened at the UNSA Faculty of Transport and Communications UNSA
KS Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth, Prof. Dr. Today, Melika Husić Mehmedović opened the Laboratory for Simulations in Logistics and ITS at the Faculty of Transport and Communications, University of Sarajevo. The ceremony was attended by University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, and Faculty of Transport and Communications Dean, Prof. Dr. Amel Kosovac with associates.
The Laboratory for Simulations in Logistics and ITS is intended for the education of more than 800 students of the first, second and third cycle of studies at the Faculty of Transport and Communications, University of Sarajevo. In this laboratory, classes will be taught from courses that include the use of specialized computer programs for modeling and testing the logistics system, as well as simulations of ITS operations required for learning and thorough understanding of the logistics system as a whole.
Work in the Laboratory for Simulations in Logistics and ITS is an important and indispensable part of education for students because it helps students understand and test complex technical-technological systems within the logistics transport process, said the Faculty of Transport and Communications. In addition, by working in the laboratory, students will develop the skills of connecting individual teaching units that are processed within the implementation plans of different courses, which is necessary for the preparation of quality final, master and doctoral theses in the field of traffic and transport technology. The great importance of procurement and use of this equipment in adjusting to standards and norms in the field of higher education and scientific research activities of the Faculty of Transport and Communications was also emphasized.
