The Laboratory for Molecular Genetic and Forensic Research at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine discovered new cases of B117 SARS Corona 2 virus infection

The Laboratory for Molecular Genetic and Forensic Research, UNSA Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has discovered new cases of B117 SARS Corona 2 virus infection, better known as a variant British strain (VOC 501Y.V1).
The Laboratory for Molecular Genetic and Forensic Research, established, by sequencing 12 new samples, new cases of infection with the variant British strain B117. Out of a total of 12 sequenced samples, four samples were positive for the B117 variant strain. Three positive samples are samples of BiH citizens, while one positive sample originates from a foreign citizen.
In addition to the mentioned B117 non-variant strain, sequencing determined the circulation and genetic line B.1.258, which also, like the British variant strain, spreads faster, which, according to Faculty experts, significantly increases the potential for worsening the epidemiological situation in BiH and FBiH.
