NUB BiH: General Library Žepče became a COBISS.BH system member
The General Library of Žepče became a new member of the Cooperative Library and Information System COBISS.BH as the eighth member of the system from the Zenica-Doboj Canton area.
On behalf of the National and University Library of BiH, the Virtual Library of BiH, Dr. Ismet Ovčina, signed the agreement on joining the system director, and Sabina Malićbegović, Žepče General Library Director on behalf of the General Library of Žepče.
The General Library of Žepče was established as an independent institution in 2003, within the House of Culture of Žepče. It has about 23,700 library units, of which 198 titles belong to rare books. Within the Homeland Collection, in addition to books related to Žepče, there are also 134 books by Žepa authors. The space of the library occupies about 200 square meters, which is very nicely equipped and comfortable for users. Equipment for the needs of work in the COBISS system was also procured from the funds they received from the Library Foundation of the Federal Ministry of Culture. The book fund is enriched by purchases, exchanges and donations, and the donation of the National and University Library of BiH stands out.
It should be pointed out that a reading society was founded in the town of Žepče in 1880, which later grew into a library, of which, unfortunately, only a few traces remain today.
The signing of the contract was attended by the Library employees and Nevenka Hajdarović, Head of the Virtual Library of BiH.
