The feast of St. Luke - Day of the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Catholic Theology
The Eucharistic celebration in the seminary church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Sarajevo and the appropriate academy in the hall of Paul VI at the Faculty of Catholic Faculty Catholic Theology, on 19 October 2020, the Day of the Catholic Theological Faculty (KBF) of the University of Sarajevo was celebrated, which took St. Luke the Evangelist as its protector whose feast this year coincided with Sunday, 18 October.
The Holy Mass was led by the Grand Chancellor of the KBF, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, Archbishop Metropolitan of Vrhbosna, with concelebration by professors and seminary educators and other priests and the participation of theologians and other students at the KBF, nuns and other believers.
The Mass was followed by a solemn academic act moderated by theologian Josip Papak, and the program began with the singing of the student anthem Gaudemaus igitur, led by baritone Dragan Pavlović with piano accompaniment by Danijel Žontar.
17 new masters of theology received diplomas of successfully completed philosophical and theological studies at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Sarajevo, which is one of the most numerous generations since the 1990s. At the end of the academy, the “Grand Chancellor” award was given to Rev. Josip Dedić who achieved the best success in the entire study with an average of 9.77 and the "Dean's Award" to theologian Ivan Matijević who achieved the best success in the previous academic year with an average of 9.58).
