Press conference and promotion of the nekropola.ba research platform
We invite you to join us at a press conference to promote the nekropola.ba research platform in the UNSA Faculty of Philosophy, Room 30 (Small Amphitheater), at 11:00 on Thursday, 6 February 2020.
At this press conference we will present the results of several months of work on the development of an extremely valuable research platform intended for the scientific and research community involved in the study and preservation of stećak tombstones, a valuable medieval treasure of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The nekropola.ba platform is a project to preserve the cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project was initiated by Professor Edin Bujak from the Department of Archeology and implemented by the Klika software company from Sarajevo in cooperation with the Institute of Archeology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.
This platform is a support for the initiative to list the stećak tombstones and necropolises in the territory of BiH, and was implemented as part of the Give Back Campaign by Klika, as part of the KLIKA PRACTICE program.
The promoters and press conference will be attended by project initiators, Faculty of Philosophy and the Institute of Archeology representatives, and members of a young IT professionals team who worked on the development of this unique platform, and all attendees will have an opportunity to learn on-site the functionality of the platform and its the importance of preserving the stećak tombstones as a monument of inestimable value.
