Cooperation Agreement between the UNSA Academy of Music and the University of Istanbul Signed
University of Sarajevo Academy of Music Dean, Prof. M.Sc. Ališer Sijarić and representatives of the University of Istanbul signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation between the UNSA Music Academy and the University of Istanbul. The aforementioned contract is the basis for the development of inter-institutional scientific and teaching cooperation, and in the first phase it foresees staff mobility that will be realized through the Erasmus+ program in the field of Ethnomusicology.
The Istanbul University (founded 1453/1924), known as the oldest and most developed university in Turkey. It has a large number of programs in various educational fields ranging from natural sciences to arts, political sciences and theology. So far, almost 500,000 students have completed their studies at it on over 850 study programs. The Istanbul University Conservatory was founded in 1914 and was the first of its kind in Turkey. It was later expanded to include theater and ballet departments, along with music and opera, taking its current name in 1986. It has a well-stocked sheet music library and a unique collection of traditional Turkish music manuscripts. It is joined by primary and secondary schools that offer musical education to students. The study also includes classes in the field of performing arts, and special programs for Turkish classical instruments and voice for adults, as well as musical theater. He is an active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires and Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
