Visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Lecturer for the Slovenian Language of the Faculty of Philosophy, UNSA
On 24 November 2023, the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Damijan Sedar visited the Lecturer for the Slavic language at the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Philosophy. On behalf of the Faculty of Philosophy, the ambassador was hosted by the Vice Dean for Scientific Research, International Academic Cooperation and Publishing, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Minka Džanko. The conversation was also attended by the lecturer of the Slovenian language, M.Sc. Pavel Ocepek.
The Slavic Language Lecturer has been operating within the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures for nine years. Interest in learning the Slovenian language is constantly increasing, and this year 56 students are learning the Slovenian language. The Slovenian language is studied at the home department as an elective subject for students of the second cycle, but also as an optional subject for students from other faculties of the University of Sarajevo.
Ambassador Damijan Sedar addressed the students of the Slovenian language and wished them a successful academic year, many interesting lectures and new knowledge. He emphasized that everyone has his personal support, as well as the support of Slovenia, especially the Center for the Slovenian Language as a Second and Foreign Language at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana.
This friendly visit highlighted the importance of academic cooperation in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
