“In the time in which we live, it is almost impossible to educate ourselves in just one area. It is necessary to combine disciplines and, therefore, we are fostering interdisciplinarity that today is not a trend in the world than a need” said Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Prof. Dr. Melika Husić-Mehmedović.

Head of a new program “International and Regional Security”, Dr. Sc. Selmo Cikotić said that the study would be conducted by lecturers and experts from around the world with the most reliable theoretical and practical knowledge. “We opted for this study out of fact that security has become important for practically all human activities. Whether you are dealing with politics, business, sports, culture or human rights, security is the basis for any work” said Cikotić adding that the lessons will be in English.

Head of the European Studies program, Prof. Dr. Azra Hadžiahmetović emphasized that this program has so far produced many successful people who work and in the most important state and international institutions, while the leader of the program “one Health”, Prof. Dr. Nihad Fejzić said that this program would make a strong internationalization of the University of Sarajevo and that the same programs existed in several US and European universities.

Prof. Dr. Asim Mujkić said that the ERMA program which had been conducted for 17 years, had never fallen into a precipice at some point and that it had maintained its dynamism, while Prof. Dr. Hata Milišić announced the new and free program “Protection against natural disasters” as a theoretical and practical study that besides professors will be conducted by experts from the field. Doz. Dr. Irzada Taljić announced the study program “Nutrition” as a quality two-year study which will be attended by doctors, biochemists, technologists, sports professors and others this year.
