University of Sarajevo Vice-rector for international cooperation in a working visit to the Northwestern University
At the invitation of the Undergraduate Learning Abroad (ULA) of the Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, USA, University of Sarajevo Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić stayed in a working visit to University Campus in Evanston from 20 to 25 May. Within the visit she participated in workshops and sessions organized for staff included in the international programs of the Northwestern University. Namely, the University of Sarajevo and the Northwestern University are partners in the implementation of the summer school “Comparative Public Health: Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which has been successfully organized for the third year through the cooperation between the Faculties of Philosophy, Medicine and Health Studies as well as the Sarajevo Canton Institute for Addiction. In addition, the Vice-Rector participated in numerous collaborative meetings with Northwestern University staff to discuss international programs, research and potential opportunities for cooperation. On this occasion, they recognized the advantages of mutual cooperation and it was agreed that the relations between the two universities in the future be strengthened by new projects, especially those that would focus on student exchange and postdoctoral study stays. It should be noted that cooperation with such a prestigious university (the 24th in the country and 30th in the world according to Webometrics) will contribute to the efforts of academic staff to create an attractive and motivating environment for research, reflection and learning.
