University of Sarajevo Rector visited the Ilidža Municipality
Mayor Nermin Muzur received University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Vice-Rector for Quality, Prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Sarajevo Dean, Prof. Dr. Muhamed Smajlović.
One of the topics of the meeting was the Veterinary Institute located in the municipality of Ilidža. This Institute is primarily engaged in the detection and research of zoonoses and other animal diseases and participates in control programs for these diseases in BiH and beyond. The institute has the highest quality laboratories and diagnostic equipment and is one of the best in the region. Its significance was especially visible with the appearance of the Covid-19 virus when the first analyzes were performed in this laboratory.
The meeting also agreed on cooperation between the Municipality and the University in terms of professional support for future projects in this local community.
A new thematic meeting has been agreed regarding the reconstruction of the Forestry School in Ilidža and possible additional content at this site.
“We thank the visit of the esteemed rector and his associates and we are happy to cooperate with such an institution. We are sure that the University of Sarajevo will be one of our partners in the future work” said Mayor Muzur.
On this occasion, Rector Škrijelj presented Mayor Muzur with the University of Sarajevo Monograph.
