University of Sarajevo employed 87 assistants and expert associates
The ceremony of the employment contract awarding to selected assistants and expert associates within the 150+ employment program at the University of Sarajevo was held at the University of Sarajevo's Ceremonial Hall on Wednesday, 18 July 2018.
Participants were addressed by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector and Mr. Adem Zolj, Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister, after which the Rector and Deans/Directors of Organizational Units handed over contracts to 87 assistants and expert associates.
Rector Škrijelj pointed out that with the employment of 87 new assistants and expert associates, the University of Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Sarajevo Canton Government and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, is implementing its project of University of Sarajevo's research and teaching staff rejuvenation.
"This event expressed willingness in response to new demands and trends in the knowledge and work market, which today are not only satisfied with significant scientific achievements, but are equally important with the successful implementation of the teaching process. That is why I think that it is very important that we put into the focus of our work precisely the engagement of young people in the process of teaching, which will greatly contribute to the quality of the teaching process at the University of Sarajevo. We also thank the Sarajevo Canton Government who recognized our commitment and needs, and allocated significant funds for financing this project” said Rector Škrijelj.
Prime Minister Zolj, emphasized that in all strategies, the most important human resource, and expressed his satisfaction at attending this ceremony, and that 87 assistants and professional associates will be employed in this first phase of realization of the "150+" program.
By implementing this program, 150 young people who have achieved remarkable results during the studies will get a job at the University that they have completed and become part of its future intellectuals.
The awarding ceremony is a significant event for the University of Sarajevo, since the rejuvenation of personnel and the renewal of human resources are the strategic goals of our University.
Along with work contracts, assistants and professional associates received a Guide for Young Researchers, a publication created within the Erasmus+ project “Improving research potential in higher education in order to contribute to the development of the Western Balkans region” (Re@WBC).
