UNDP – University of Sarajevo Cooperation
On 12 November 2019, Ms. Steliana Nedera, UNDP Resident Representative and Ms. Marina Dimova, Principal Adviser on Administration visited the University of Sarajevo to meet with Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector. University Vice-Rectors: Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić and Prof. Dr. Maida Čohodar Husić, Prof. Dr. Melika Husić-Mehmedovic, UNSA CIS Director, M.Sc. Mariana Hadžijusufović, ERMA Program Coordinator, and M.Sc. Miroslav Živanović, Head of Rector's Office also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, possibilities of enhancing cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and UNDP BiH, as well as possible forms of cooperation especially regarding the digitization of the University of Sarajevo, and cooperation in the field of sustainable development and environmental protection, as well as cooperation on energy efficiency projects were discussed.
UNDP representatives presented the launched Accelerator Lab, an initiative aimed at finding solutions to accelerated development in the 21st century, and discussed the possibilities of cooperation with the University of Sarajevo within this initiative. It is a UNDP global initiative, and of the sixty newly established “development laboratories”, only two in Europe.
The meeting ended with a strong mutual readiness to pursue institutional co-operation and the signing of a memorandum of understanding, and the necessary administrative procedures will be undertaken in the coming period.
