Students of the UNSA Academy of Music performed with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra
Successful cooperation of the University of Sarajevo Academy of Music and the Sarajevo Philharmonic has taken another joint concert held on 29 February 2024 at the Sarajevo National Theater. In addition to the orchestra of the Sarajevo Philharmonic as soloists, students of the UNSA Academy of Music performed under the conductor leadership of Fuad Šetić and Ognjen Bomoštar.
The program is open with the performance of saxophonist Riyad Sharić (II cycle of studies, class: Doz. Lev Pupis) who performed the work “Légende” op. 66 Floreta Schmitta, after which baritone Tomislav Perić (4th year, class: Prof. Mr. Adema Pljevak-Krehić) interpreted the aria “O du mein holder Abendstern” from the opera “Tannhäuser” Richard Wagner. As a soloist, he was also introduced on this occasion by violinist Alex Mateescu (II cycle of studies, class: Prof. Mr. Marko Simović) by performing the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in d minor, op. 47 Jean Sibelius.
The second part of the concert went into the sign of recognizable works of piano literature. Melina Šišić (3rd year, class: Prof. Mr. Azra Medić), played “Totentanz”, S. 126 Franz Liszt, while Zerina Šabotić (II cycle of studies, class: Prof. Mr. Dragan Opančić) interpreted the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra at the G major of Maurice Ravel.
