Strategic cooperation between the Bosnian Rectors' Conference and Croatia is achieved by the Agreement signed at the SUM
A joint, historic session of the Bosnian Rectors' Conference and the Rectors' Assembly of the Republic of Croatia was held as part of the celebration of the University of Mostar Day. The session was chaired by the Rector of the University of Zenica and the President of the Rectors' Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Duraković and the Rector of the University of Rijeka and the President of the Rector's Assembly of the Republic of Croatia Prof. Dr. Snježana Prijić Samaržija.
The rectors agreed that there is a quality multi-year cooperation between public universities in BiH and the Republic of Croatia and that it can be further improved and signed an Agreement on Understanding and Cooperation, which will be followed by concrete measures to implement. Special emphasis in the Agreement was placed on mutual cooperation in removing obstacles to access to higher education, creating additional opportunities for young people and stopping the increased emigration of young people and implementing higher education reform in order to meet the conditions for active and full participation in the single European education area. The mobility of teachers, students and non-teaching staff and the exchange of publications and other scientific information are part of the Agreement signed in Mostar.
It was agreed to hold a joint conference to discuss all key challenges of higher education, and the conference will be held in Zagreb. Public universities will enhance cooperation in the implementation of international projects and better networking through European programs. They considered the possibility of establishing joint studies, exchange of teachers and the conditions of holding and the quality of teaching during the pandemic and the student standard. The rectors of universities and universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia oppose and condemn all forms of discrimination and hatred both in academia and society.
