Prime Minister Uk and Rector Zaimović Visited the Construction Site of the University of Sarajevo Library

The Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo, Nihad Uk, along with the Rector of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, visited today the construction site of the University of Sarajevo Library in the University Campus. One of the most significant infrastructural projects in higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the final phase of construction.
So far, 90 percent of the masonry work has been completed, with over 17,000 cubic meters of concrete and 1,500 tons of reinforcement used. Six elevators have been installed to ensure full functionality and accessibility for all students and visitors. The construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2025, which will create conditions for beginning the furnishing and functional arrangement of the space.
"The University Library will be a symbol of the new UNSA Campus. For the Government of Canton Sarajevo, this is the most important post-war investment in higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The space will become a meeting place for ideas, critical thinking, interdisciplinary cooperation, and lifelong learning. Its construction directly contributes to positioning Sarajevo as a regional center of knowledge and culture," stated Prime Minister Uk.
"The new University of Sarajevo Library will be a modern space for knowledge, research, and dialogue, intended for students, professors, and researchers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and around the world. It will provide access to extensive library collections and digital resources, aiming to foster innovation and strengthen academic excellence," said Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, Rector of the University of Sarajevo.
With the construction of this building, Sarajevo will gain a modern library and a new symbol of dedication to education, science, and international academic cooperation.
