Online Public Lecture “Antisemitism and how to recognize it” Held

The University of Sarajevo organized on 27 February 2024, an online public lecture “Antisemitism and how to recognize it”.

The speaker was academic Prof. Dr. Ivo Goldstein, a Zagreb professor, historian, author, but also former Croatian ambassador to France in 2012, and during that term he was also UNESCO ambassador. In addition to him, the presentation also was held by Prof. DR. Dino Abazović, full professor of the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Sarajevo in Sociology of Religion in Undergraduate Studies, and the Religion of the Modern World, Religion and Conflicts, and the Religion in International Policy in Graduate Studies. Among other works, he published three authorial and one co-author book. They were joined by Dr. Gordana Todorić, Novo Sad Professor. She has a large number of papers published behind her and three books published.

Dr. Eli Tauber was the last announced speaker at the lecture. Eli Tauber was born in 1950 in Sarajevo where he finished the First Lyceum and then the Faculty of Political Sciences, Journalism Dept. As early as his early youth, he studied the history and customs of the Jews in BiH. He is the author of several notable exhibitions such as Memory of the Holocaust and The righteous of the Jewish people of BiH, those many papers from Judaica. He received his doctorate in 2012 on the topic How the Holocaust was conducted in BiH.

The opening speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Rasim Muratović, Director of the Institute for Crime Research against Humanity and International Law, University of Sarajevo.
