Noted performance by students of the Music Academy at the Regional Meeting of Students of Ethnomusicology and Ethnocoreology in Belgrade
Students of the fourth year of Department of Musicology Ethnomusicology at the University of Sarajevo Music Academy Damir Galijašević and Zanin Berbić participated at the Regional Meeting of Ethnomusicology and Ethnocoreology students organized by the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
The gathering was dedicated to young researchers formed within the framework of multiple traditions of post-Yugoslav ethnomusicology. The inspiration for such a gathering came from the former good practice of the Music Academy Meeting, a scientific manifestation that has been held for many years in the former socialist Yugoslavia and has undoubtedly shaped generations of scientists with emphasis on exchanging themes and knowledge across the boundaries of national contexts. The idea of leading this year's meeting of students from Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, who initiated the Department of Ethnomusicology of FMU in Belgrade, is the first generation networking and, more broadly, the strengthening of the cooperation of regional ethno musicological/ethnocoreological centers, since the number and breadth of themes and approaches available to different national ethnomusicology schools represent a good basis for the establishment of new platforms for the exchange of knowledge. This meeting of students and professors was only the first in a series of gatherings and went in the spirit of dialogue and friendship!
