New patent of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Sarajevo
On 7 March, 2022, the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted to the Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (INGEB), University of Sarajevo information on the successful registration of a patent filed by INGEB in July 2020.
The patent is a successful result of many years of research by the team of the Laboratory for Human Genetics of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Sarajevo under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Lejla Pojskić, scientific advisor and presents guidelines for early and non-invasive clinical detection of prostate cancer from urine based on RNA technology.
This complements the efforts to improve the patent application procedures at the University of Sarajevo, which is intended to stimulate the innovation of all researchers employed at our University and encourage entrepreneurship and cooperation with the industrial sector.
