Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of KS visited the UNSA Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences

On 2 June 2021, Prof. Dr. Melika Husić-Mehmedović, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton together with the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food, University of Sarajevo Prof. Dr. Muhamed Brka and Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Enisa Omanović-Mikličanin visited the Faculty’s demonstration site located in Butmir.
The Minister had the opportunity to look at the activities carried out by the Faculty as part of its own research, as well as several scientific research projects, and to get acquainted with the staff and capacities that the Faculty has.
Special attention is paid to projects as well as a state-of-the-art laboratory within Gen Bank.
Among other things, the projects "Testing the application of geothermal heating in greenhouses - TREG" funded by Caritas Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented; then SMARTWATER H2020 project (Promoting Smart Agricultural Water Management in Bosnia and Herzegovina).
They also discussed future activities, opportunities that the agricultural sector has and development projects.
