The University of Sarajevo, following the example of many European universities, organizes activities with the aim of better promoting mobility programs such as Erasmus+, and increasing the international incoming and outgoing mobility of students, teaching/scientific and non-teaching staff with the aim of professional training and academic advancement, as well as acquiring international experience. The topics of this year's Staff week are the problems and challenges that Erasmus coordinators face when implementing international mobilities. In this way, in one place we have created a space and a platform for the exchange of opinions and information on the best practices in overcoming obstacles in international incoming and outgoing mobilities.
The first day - 24 October was dedicated to the presentation of the host country and city, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo, the University of Sarajevo, as well as the work of the Service for International Cooperation and the internationalization program. After that, a special UNSA cultural and educational tour and tour of some of the members of the University of Sarajevo was organized. Our foreign guests first visited the Academy of Music and had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the program and work of this institution, and tour the rooms whose walls are witnesses of the turbulent history and art in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vice Dean for International Cooperation Prof. Dr. Amila Ramović presented the history of this institution, where numerous concerts were held during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, preserving until the last breath the spirit of the besieged city and its inhabitants. After that, the tour continued towards the Faculty of Catholic Theology, where in the company of the vice Dean for Science, Prof. Josip Knežević and Vice Dean for Teaching, Prof. Oliver Jurišić, guests could get acquainted with the long-standing tradition of Catholic theology in these areas, and walk through the beautiful church of St. Cyril and Methodius. The guests also visited the library of this faculty, where M.Sc. sci Irena Pejić, senior librarian, presented the rich library fund. The tour continued at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, where they were welcomed by the vice-dean for international cooperation, Prof. Dr. Aid Smajić. Our guests were welcomed with Bosnian roses and sweets, and on the occasion of the celebration of the month of Mevlud, our guests had the opportunity to hear the performance of ilahi by the choir of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, and lectures about the Faculty, its history and Islam in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Vice Dean Smajić. As true hosts, the tour ended with Bosnian coffee where the guests enjoyed the symbiosis of cultures, religions and infrastructure, which the University of Sarajevo can be very proud of.
Through the five-day program, the UNSA International Cooperation Department enables participation in various presentations, seminars, workshops, as well as networking among partners and the exchange of good practices and experiences. In addition, this is a perfect opportunity to promote Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina and present the University of Sarajevo as a serious and potential partner for many international projects.
