Faculty of Political Science Students visited the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Within the project “Open Doors in the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, the 1st and 2nd cycle of studies students at the Department of Political Science - State Administration, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo visited the Federation Parliament on 10 January 2020. The students were interviewed by a Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH: Sabina Ćudić, Senaid Begić and Hajrudin Žilić. Almedina Bulić, Alma Varaki, Aida Hadžić Salkić, Edita Martinović, Mirsad Talić and Ivan Buda were present in front of the expert services of the houses of the Federation Parliament.
Students asked questions about the work and functioning of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its importance in the constitutional system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They also discussed the relationship between the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples in the legislative process, nomotechnical procedure, amendment practice, parliamentary issues, as well as proposals for the Act currently in the legislative procedure.
What particularly interested students was how long it took to make a decision or a law, who proposes laws, whether the club does it as a party or individuals, and many other issues in this area.
Expert services representatives at Houses of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina were thanked by Prof. Dr. Elvis Fejzić, Vice Dean for Teaching and Prof. Dr. Elmir Sadiković, Head of the Political Science Department at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Sarajevo, assessed the visit as very useful and sincerely hoped to continue cooperation with the Federation Parliament in the future.
